Here, seafood is the heart of the table, but it’s never just about the ingredients—it’s the stories they carry and the comfort they bring. This is a great option for people not familiar with Cajun or Creole food. It has a very large menu so there's plenty of options for people who aren't quite sure what they like. It's not going to be the best Cajun or Creole food that you'll ever have, but it's a great way to start to get to familiar with the dishes and set a good baseline. You will not have a bad meal here no matter what you pick. The service is usually very good in the atmosphere is a great example of a French quarter restaurant complete with the dining area upstairs and a courtyard, so you can always find a comfortable place to eat regardless of the weather. Strongly recommend any of the blackened dishes but the black and red fish which is their signature dish it's definitely worth a try.

So good! We got a 10% coupon from the guy outside so we decided why not. Our server was awesome! She talked us into a drink they were promoting. I'm glad she did. We had crab cakes for an app. We ordered the trio and Shrimp pasta. Jambalaya was sooo good! Pasta has amazing flavor and did not disappoint. We devoured the crab cakes as well. It was fun, food was amazing, definitely recommend!

We had a great time having an early dinner here. We had a dozen charbroiled oysters and redfish plate. They were delicious especially the grilled red fish. Our server was attentive and didn't have to wait long to be seated or get served. We were taken to the courtyard area to dine in.

First of all, the service at Oceana is excellent. From the host who seated us to our server, everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive, enthusiastic, but still very professional. We ordered the Taste of NOLA, the Seafood Gumbo, and the Oceana Famous Oysters. All three dishes had fairly heavy seasoning. The gumbo, in particular, was on the salty side, though you can tell the flavors and spices were very well layered — if it were just a bit less salty, it would have been outstanding. The oysters were fresh off the grill, incredibly fragrant, and really delicious. Just make sure to eat them while they’re hot, because once they cool down, the flavor drops by about 60%. If you enjoy salty food or don’t mind dishes that are on the saltier side, this place is definitely worth visiting.

A NOLA quarter classic! Must have the charbroiled oysters! Service was amazing- we had such a great night. Reasonable prices too with big portions. Really enjoyed the courtyard area! We will return again when we are NOLA.

First time visitor to NOLA and decided to stop in and try this gem! So glad that I did! Was seated at the upstairs bar and had great service from John, and great conversation with another visitor named Tracy! Every drink John recommended and made was phenomenal and the food was great as well! Also got a little history lesson in spirits from him!! Happy Birthday Again John!! (Dec. 28th)

They were packed the day we went. We had a reservation and was told we may potentially need to wait because the tables were taking a while. Luckily we didn’t have to wait. My husband and I ordered the Cajun corn dip, the crab cakes (appetizer), a cup of Gumbo, and the blackened duck. We got everything fairly quickly. Only the duck took a while but still fast for having every table filled. Everything was phenomenal. We were so impressed with the blackened duck. It was juicy and the fat was rendered well. The corn dip was super tasty and came with plenty of tortilla chips. The crab cakes were the best. My husband isn’t very fond of them but he loved them, especially since it isn’t so heavy on the breading. Our server was Karla W and she was fantastic, checking on us often without being disruptive. She was kind, informative, and efficient. We highly recommend this place. We were in and out within an hour on a busy night!

Seriously impressed. The food was delicious, but the service was what really blew us away. Our waiter had an incredible memory, perfectly recalling our entire order despite all our questions and special requests—all without a notepad! This spot is a definite recommendation, and it's super convenient, just steps from Bourbon and Royal Street. Go!
